Güzelyurt District Governor “Bostancı stream from South, overflowing”

Heavy rain has been effective in Bostancı (Kato Zodeia). Personnel were sent to the area ensuring the control of the overflowing stream.

Güzelyurt District Governor Savaş Orakçıoğlu noted that the level of the stream has decreased, “The fire brigade team, municipality officials and Civil Defense teams are on standby ready to help citizens in the region,” he said.

Issuing a statement to the TAK, Orakçıoğlu stated that the Bostancı (Kato Zodeia) stream coming from the south had overflowed due to heavy rain, and that authorities have removed any blockage at the stream ensuring the flow in a controlled manner.

Noting that there is no rain in the region at the moment, Orakçıoğlu stated that the level of the stream has dropped and said that the flow will stop completely in 3-4 hours if the rain does not continue.

Orakçıoğlu said that no complaints have been reported so far and emphasized that necessary precautions will be taken swiftly in the case of any damage occuring.
