It was revealed that 9 out of 10 people living in North Cyprus are not satisfied with the health services provided by the state. Nothing good was said in favour of the health services. The health system was taken up, this time, by the Center for Immigration Identity and Rights Studies (CMIRS), conducted every three months. The health issue, which was first discussed in October 2016, was on the agenda again in June 2024. The results revealed that citizens’ view of healthcare services was much worse than in 2016. In the evaluation made on behalf of CMIRS, it was stated that “it is obvious that the health system needs serious reform.”
HIGHEST NUMBER 3 OUT OF 10
In June 2024, a face-to-face survey to 500 participants was carried out. The questions included the participants thoughts on medication supply, the physical condition of hospitals, nurse behaviors and nursing care, hospital hotel management conditions, laboratory examinations, and ambulance services. The general satisfaction of doctors and medical services were also questioned. Among all these issues, it was revealed that only 3 out of 10 people were satisfied with doctors. Overall 9 out of 10 people had serious complaints on the physical condition of hospitals.
NO ONE IS SATISFIED
Data has showed that complaints on the health services has increased rather than decreasing over the years. While the participants of the research were also asked about their “satisfaction with the medical services received in general”, the answers were consistent with the whole research. Accordingly, 45 out of 100 citizens are not happy with the general health services. Meanwhile, 8 out of 100 people said that they were satisfied, and 3 were very satisfied.
