The public is having difficulties in paying back bank loans taken due to the economic difficulties in the country. An increase has been recorded on the people that owe money to banks.
According to the Halkın Sesi newspaper, the total bank debt of citizens in North Cyprus has reached a record of 17.5 billion TL. The highest amount, in the country’s history, was recorded in credit card debts. The overall, overdue payment debts at banks has reached 1.8 billion TL.
