UN Secretary-General’s Personal Envoy for Cyprus, María Ángela Holguín Cuéllar will be travelling to Ankara Thursday and then London, UNSG Spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric announced on Tuesday, during his daily press briefing.
“Holguin visited the divided island over the weekend” he said.
During the visit, Maria Angela Holguin Cuellar met with Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot leaders as well as a broad range of interlocutors and representatives of the international community, Stephane Dujarric told reporters.
Holguín held meetings with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Greek Foreign Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis in Athens yesterday.
Guterres last month announced the appointment of Holguin to the post. She served as Colombia’s foreign minister from 2010 to 2018.
