Two Hungarian nationals pleaded guilty yesterday to several charges relating to advertising and promoting the sale of homes built on Greek Cypriot land in Northern Cyprus and the Nicosia Assize Court will announce their sentence on May 9.
The first defendant has admitted 21 of the 63 charges of promoting and advertising the sale of houses in the Kyrenia area, and the second defendant, also from Hungary, pleaded guilty to 6 of the 63 charges relating to the same offences. Criminal proceedings have been suspended for the remaining charges.
Both are alleged to have promoted and advertised the sale of houses in complexes illegally built in the areas of Kalogrea and Trachonas – Agios Amvrosios, Kyrenia, by a company through their personal Facebook pages.
The two defendants, at the request of the Prosecuting Authority and by decision of the Assize Court, will remain in custody until May 9.
