According to the Turkish Cypriot Public Servants Union (KTAMS), the hunger threshold for a family of 4 has been determined as 26 thousand 191 Turkish Lira (TL). The hunger threshold announced has been increased 416 TL since June which was recorded as 25, 775 TL.
Head of Kamu-İş Ahmet Serdaroğlu pointed out that the hunger threshold consists of food only, not electricity, water, hospital, rent, transportation or other expenses and posed a question saying, “Why is the poverty line not being announced?”
