Incidents unrelated to fan movement, says Cyprus Football Federation

The Cyprus Football Federation (KOP) has issued a statement clarifying that the recent incidents are not linked to fan movement. According to the Federation, the clashes were not between opposing fan groups but rather between fans and the police.

KOP emphasized that it is incorrect to attribute every undesirable event to the lack of a fan movement ban. In the days leading up to the match, the Federation urged all parties involved to exercise restraint, act responsibly, and adhere to the law.

The Federation further noted that appropriate sporting disciplinary actions will be taken once the relevant reports from match officials have been reviewed.

Expressing confidence that the police will conduct a thorough investigation, KOP expects that the suspects will be apprehended and brought to justice.

Lastly, KOP condemned any form of violence, extended its support to the injured police officers, and wished them a speedy recovery.
