Instagram is developing a ‘Super Like’ option for Stories, which will be an upgrade to the current heart-shaped Like button. Reverse engineer Alessandro Paluzzi discovered this feature which will allow users to tap and hold the Like button.
The Super Like button is expected to be limited to one use per 24 hours in order to prevent overuse of the feature.
The reason for the feature is that stories help reduce DM clutter and offer creators a clearer picture of their content’s performance. A Super Like will further amplify this, providing a more expressive way for users to react to Stories they truly love.
There’s no official word on whether Instagram has begun testing the Super Like feature or when it might roll out to all users.
It has been reported that Instagram is also developing several other features which are; improved cross-posting with Threads, AI-powered chat themes, cross-posting Stories to WhatsApp, and a folder management feature for DMs.
