Investigations continue into the arson of a truck in Paphos


 

A fire broke out in the early hours of Wednesday in a training truck in Paphos.

Assistant Police Director Michalis Nikolaou reported that the fire broke out around 4:30 am, in a training truck, which belongs to a 58-year-old driver instructor. The truck was permanently parked in the forecourt of the Department of Road Transport in Paphos and was used for training purposes who wanted to obtain a truck license.

Nikolaou said that the cause of the fire in a training truck has not yet been ascertained. He mentioned, the examinations at the scene of the fire in the training truck have been completed and no flammable material was detected, but evidence was received which will be sent for scientific examinations, including chemicals.

The fire was extinguished by the Fire Service, and the scene was secured.

It is noted that another truck that was parked next to the first one and belongs to a company also suffered extensive damage.
