Isias report proves irregularities in hotel construction!

Irregularities have been penned in the expert report on the Isias hotel that collapsed in Kahramanmaraş, killing 65 people including 25 members of the Turkish Cypriot volleyball team. According to the report prepared by the Karadeniz Technical University, the 10-floor hotel had no statistics report or a statistics project.
The report states that river sand was used in the construction of the building and that a floor extension was built without the approval of an investigation of ground research. Very poor quality cement was used in the construction of the hotel, and the thickness of iron material was way below standards, the report notes. It was emphasized that the original permit was submitted for an apartment in 1991 but was later converted into a hotel.
It was pointed out that another floor was added to the building in 2016, which only had a 9-floor permit.
It was stated that the building did not have a ground report, statistic calculation, or a statistics project.
