The Traditional İskele (Trikomo) festival which will last for 10 days begins this evening and will continue until July 7th. According to the press bureau of the İskele Municipality the festival, originally known as the Larnaca Deniz Panayırı (festival) since 1974, is taking place in İskele after a 5-year break. The festival, which will take place at the İskele Ecevit Square, will host folk dance performances, a Larnaca night, Karadeniz night, İskele rally, Be on Derviş bike race, Tennis tournament, Junior pitch tournament, Sports competition, Chess, Darts, İskele Archery, Catch the Greasy Flag Poll, Diving, Backgammon, and Fishing competitions. There will also be a Cypriot Cuisine Competition and a Traditional Turkish Cypriot ball, basketball feast, and Children’s Fun and Games activities.
INAUGURATION EDİP AKBAYRAM CONCERT
A concert by famous Turkish Singer Edip Akbayram will take place for the opening of the festival this evening. All concerts will be free of charge. A concert by Group Otantik will take to the stage tomorrow. Mert Demir will be performing on Wednesday, July 3, Yahya and İbrahim Kurşiniler on Thursday, July 4, Selçuk Balcı on Friday, July 5, and Simge Sağın on Sunday, July 7.
