Turkish Cypriot lawyer Akan Kürşat, who was detained in Italy for being accused of having connections to the sales of Greek Cypriot properties in the north of Cyprus, objected to his extradition to South Cyprus at yesterday’s hearing. “Sigmalive” news and other news sources have also reported Kürşats’ objection to being extradited to Cyprus.
THE CASE HAS BEEN POSTPONED TO FEBRUARY 6
Cyprus Mail news announced the court will convene on February 6.
HE GAVE HIS LIFE SAFETY AS A REASON
The newspaper reported that Kürşat filed an objection extradition request to Cyprus, reminding of the murder of a Turkish Cypriot prisoner in 2022, stating that the Cyprus prison would not be safe for him.
