New information has been detected on bribery charges against the Executive Assistant to the Ministry of Labour Oğuz Köse, who is in police custody. The police have found out that Köse, during his work for the ministry, had held inspections at a construction site together with inspectors from the Labor Department. Köse who detected several faults at the construction site fined the company 40 times worth the minimum wage. It has also been discovered that Oğuz Köse bribed the company into selling him a flat worth 90 thousand pounds for a sum of 50 thousand pounds.
Following a police investigation, it was revealed that the suspect also intervened in the citrus business in Güzelyurt.
The suspect allegedly received 50 thousand pounds in exchange for speeding up the process of bringing 440 orange fruit employees to the country. An investigation has been launched on this incident.
Police said that the suspect also demanded alcoholic beverages and cigars from those he did business with. In return for business deals, Oğuz sent photographs of the product brands he requested. He received 33 alcoholic beverages worth 168 thousand TL and 52 cigars worth 150 thousand TL as gifts, and evidence was found at his home, it has been reported.
According to the police report, the suspect had accepted various gifts during his duty and disrupted those who did not gift him. The police said that an individual from Türkiye will be coming to testify in court regarding the gifts given to the suspect. Oğuz continues to refuse sharing his mobile password with the police.
