Leaders to meet Monday to discuss opening new crossing points


 

Turkish Cypriot leader Ersin Tatar and the Greek Cypriot leader Nicos Christodoulides and the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General in Cyprus, Colin Stewart will have a meeting on Monday.

The meeting will take place at the official residence of the United Nations Peacekeeping Chief of Mission at 10.30 am.

The leaders will discuss the opening of new crossings points between the two sides, following on what was agreed upon during the informal dinner on October 15, 2024, hosted by the UN Secretary-General in New York.

The Greek Cypriot side has already submitted proposals for the opening of crossings at Gaziler (Pyroi )and Erenköy (Kokkina) during the meetings of the negotiators of both sides with Stewart.

The Turkish Cypriot side has referred to the opening of a regular crossing point at Haspolat (Mia Milia).
