The Livestock Producers and Breeders Association broke down the Prime Ministry gates with a tractor as the protest escalated.
The vehicle protest, which began in Nicosia yesterday, is still ongoing.
Protesters, who had left their vehicles in front of the Prime Ministry building last night, gathered again at 10:30 a.m.
The demonstrators who set hay bales and tires on fire also broke the Parliament gate, and vehicle entrance fence with a tractor, leading to clashes and arrests. The police formed a wall of flesh to control the angered demonstrators.
“We will build a new one for the new Prime Minister” Head of the Livestock Producers and Breeders Association Mustafa Naimoğulları was cited as saying.
