The vehicular protest conducted by the Livestock Producers and Breeders Association in Nicosia continues on its third day. Activists have gathered in front of the Prime Ministry building.
Head of the Livestock Producers and Breeders Association Mustafa Naimoğulları, announced that a meeting was held with the Minister of Finance and the Minister of Agriculture and Natural Resources last night, yet a consensus was not achieved.
Naimoğulları stated that the four arrested activists have been released.
Livestock producers had launched a vehicular demonstration on May 20 to protest against the government’s livestock policies.
He noted that non-governmental organizations are also supporting the Association, which is taking action against the government until the the decision of imported meat is lifted, the price of raw milk is determined, and input costs in production are reduced.
