The Barrier-Free Art Night, traditionally organized every year by the Nicosia Turkish Municipality (LTB), was held this year with great interest and enthusiasm.
LTB Mayor Mehmet Harmancı started his speech by raising awareness to the topic.
Pointing out to the importance of increasing self-awareness, Mayor Harmancı said, “No matter what we do, if we individuals do not remove the obstacles in our own minds, we will be the obstacles ourselves.”
Harmancı stated that LTB first begun this journey with a broken disabled vehicle and now they are able to provide barrier-free transportation to all schools. Mayor Harmancı said that different services are provided to individuals with special needs with the New World Barrier-Free Activity Center and emphasized that they aim to increase the range of services in this field.
