Man caught with 1,100 kg drugs taken to court!


 

A.H.S., who was caught with 1,100 kilograms of drugs following a raid carried out by the Prevention of Narcotics and Smuggling Team in Lefkoşa (Nicosia) appeared in court yesterday.

A police statement said that the narcotics team went to the suspect’s house in Göçmenköy, Lefkoşa (Nicosia) at around 12.30 in the afternoon, and found 42 packets of cannabis weighing approximately 1,100 kilograms.

The police said that the suspect has been arrested, an investigation has been launched, and a 2-day detention order was issued for against him.

Noting that an inquiry is ongoing, the police said that further investigations are underway for the footage of where the suspect received his drugs and examinations on his mobile phone.

The police are searching for another person who is believed to have connections with the incident and requested for an additional of 7 days.

Judge Jale Ergüden, who evaluated the testimony, ordered the suspect to be detained for 7 days.
