A young foreigner lost his life, who jumped from the 5th floor of an apartment building, after a raid by Immigration and Asylum Service (IAS), in Limassol. A second person was injured and taken to the hospital by ambulance.
According to police sources, following information about people who were living illegally in Cyprus, around 06.20 members of the IAS entered an apartment of a building located in the city center.
With the entry of IAS members into the apartment, two persons allegedly attempted to escape, jumping onto the balconies of neighboring apartments, as a result of which one was mortally wounded and the other seriously injured.
The injured was taken to the Limassol General Hospital, while the scene was cordoned off. Police investigations are being carried out regarding the incident.
