Mask mandates return as flu jump


 

The High Committee for Contagious Diseases convened and issued a series of decisions.

It has been made mandatory for individuals with upper respiratory tract complaints to wear masks in crowded settings.

Visitors to nursing homes, hospitals, and prisons, as well as nursing home staff and those responsible for the care of patients aged 65 and older, are also required to wear masks.

According to the decision, individuals in risk groups – such as those over 65, those with lung, kidney, or neurological diseases, individuals using immunosuppressive medications for extended periods, diabetes patients, HIV patients, and children under the age of 5 – are required to get tested if they exhibit upper respiratory tract infections and consult their doctors promptly to receive treatment as soon as possible.

Among the committee’s decisions, it was stated that patients with upper respiratory complaints who are examined by their doctors should receive medical reports from their attending physicians if necessary. Additionally, it was made mandatory for laboratory diagnostic tests to have CE-IVD certification.
