The Revolutionary Trade Unions Federation (DEV-İŞ) announced that (May Day) May 1st will be organized with the slogan “Solidarity-Reunification-Social Justice”.
DEV-İŞ in a written statement said that a bi-communal event will be held this year just like every year, except for the pandemic period. The event will kick start with a gathering at Kuğulu Park at 5.30 pm on Monday, May 1.
The groups to be gathered will then walk to the Çetinkaya field in the buffer zone at 6 pm. They will then meet with Greek Cypriot labourers at the field. The May 1st declaration will be read out by the heads and secretary generals of DEV-İŞ and PEO in two languages.
Bi-communal musicians to contribute to the cultural event are Prospectus, Arda Gündüz, Niyal Öztürk, Frederiki Tombazou, Dimitris Mesimeris.
