Next Leaders’ meeting scheduled for May 5

The next meeting between the Greek Cypriot leader Nikos Christodoulides and the Turkish Cypriot leader Ersin Tatar has been scheduled for May 5.

Christodoulides made the announcement while attending the 15th Nicosia Economic Congress. When asked about the appointment of a UN Secretary-General’s Personal Envoy, he stated that official announcements from the UN are still pending, with the latest update indicating that administrative preparations are currently in progress.

He also confirmed that the Turkish Cypriot side had responded to proposed meeting dates, and May 5 was mutually agreed upon.

“I look forward to this meeting, as well as to the official announcement from the UN and the arrival of the envoy in Cyprus,” Christodoulides said.
