The lack of street lighting on the Lefkoşa (Nicosia) Northern Ring road has been hazardous since its construction.
The opening of the road, used to relieve traffic jams in the capital Lefkoşa (Nicosia) and a transit between districts, has claimed the lives of four, to date.
The road has been recorded top of the list of deadly accidents. Although its tender began in 2012, it became operational far later on July 20, 2021.
Road safety experts announced that the road was opened incomplete, and measures have not been taken on the dangers posed, stating that drivers are in danger.
