North Cyprus facing alarming levels of violence!


 

It has been reported that the violence in North Cyprus is deteriorating. A drunk man named Taner Çizer went to a company based in Lefkoşa (Nicosia) and started shouting at another individual for reporting his wife to the police. Çizer then punched two officers after being arrested. The police said that Çizer broke the control room windows while being taken to the police cell. He then threatened the police saying that he will find and kill the officer when he is out.

Meanwhile, another violence against women incident took place in Lefkoşa (Nicosia). Eşref Erensu went to the Ministry of Transportation, where his ex-wife worked, and pulled out a gun on the young woman telling her that he wanted to get back with her. He threatened the woman telling her that if she did not get back with him then he will kill himself, and then started hitting her.

Another incident was reported to police in the Walled City of Lefkoşa (Nicosia) after a brawl broke out between two families. According to the police, the brawl between the two families broke out after their children started arguing first. Police vehicles were also damaged due to the brawl. 11 people aged 15-61 have been arrested.
