North Cyprus target 2 million tourists this year


 

It has been reported that more than 2 million tourists are expected to visit North Cyprus during the summer period.

Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu said that the expectations for the number of tourists is higher than previous years and added that they aim to attract more than 2 million tourists to the country this year.

Ataoğlu emphasized that work is being carried out in many cities to diversify the places that tourists will visit throughout the country. He also stated that advertising activities are being carried out in Türkiye, Russia, the UK and Germany.
Fikri Ataoğlu stressed that despite the increase in tourists, the number of beds and facilities were still limited and that they target to solve the limited bed capacity by collabotating with ministers in order for new hotels to be built.

Ataoğlu stated that once Ercan Airport’s new terminal building is in service it will make a great contribution to tourism.
