An old munitions device uncovered during landscaping work at the National Park in Nicosia’s Metehan district on Saturday was safely destroyed by police bomb squads.
According to a police statement, the road between the Metehan ( Agios Dometios)crossing point and the Metehan Roundabout was temporarily closed as a precaution while the device was being neutralised.
The bomb disposal unit safely destroyed the munitions, after which the road was reopened to traffic.
