Passenger traffic at Cyprus airports exceeds 4 million


 

Passenger traffic at Larnaca and Paphos airports surpassed, for the first time, 4 million during the period January to May 2025, recording an increase of 12.02% compared to 2024, according to a press release issued by the Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Works.

In May 2025, the airports of Larnaca and Paphos welcomed 1,282,882 passengers, marking an increase of 12.47% compared to May 2024.

Passenger volume at Larnaca Airport increased by 19%, while at Paphos Airport there was a slight decrease of 1.36% compared to 2024.

In addition, the Ministry of Transport said with key markets being Israel, the United Kingdom, Poland, Germany, and Armenia, aircraft movements rose by 10.25% compared to 2024, reaching 9,518 flights.

The largest increase in absolute numbers was recorded at Larnaca Airport on routes to Israel, Poland, the United Kingdom, Germany, and Armenia, while in Paphos, increases were noted on routes to the United Kingdom, Jordan, Poland, Hungary, and Germany.

On the other hand, the biggest decreases occurred in Larnaca from France, Jordan, Norway, Switzerland, and Belgium, and in Paphos from Greece, Romania, France, Estonia, and Israel.
