Turkish Cypriot leader Tatar said that South Cyprus is cooperating with Israel and is not sincere about aiding Gazze as the USA and the UK are using South Cyprus lands in order to give millitary support to Tel Aviv.
Speaking to AA news, Tatar said that the UK has two military bases in South Cyprus. “I strongly condemn the UK, if military and logistical support is being provided to Israel from South Cyprus.” he was cited as saying.
Tatar drew attention to the recently increasing US and French military presence in the lands controlled by South Cyprus to support Israel. He argued that the maritime humanitarian aid corridor to Gaza, brought to the agenda by South Cyprus, was intended to veil military support to Israel from Greek Cypriot territory.
“If they were sincere about the humanitarian aid corridor, they would not have had good relations with Israel.”
“The Greek Cypriot Administration of South Cyprus, which cooperates with Israel, is not sincere on aiding Gaza.”
“Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Cohen was here. Their cooperation continues. Considering all the things going on, the military activities of some countries on one hand, and the relations between South Cyprus and Israel on the other, I think that the humanitarian aid corridor is a coverup for other issues. If they were sincere about the humanitarian aid corridor, they would not have had good relations with Israel. Therefore, I believe that there is insincerity in this matter.” Tatar said.
