Similarly to the construction sector, there are illegal auto gallery businesses operating in the north. Head of the Association of Motor Vehicles Dealers Sales and Importers Barış Yuca pointed to the importance of urgent steps to be taken against the illegal auto galleries stating that this was being experienced due to a lack of inspections and insufficiency in the regulation.

2 THOUSANDS VEHICLES SOLD MONTHLY

Speaking to Diyalog newspaper, Yuca warned that a great loss will be experienced towards the government treasury and the rights and benefits of individuals if businesses in this sector fail to be registered. Noting that around two thousand vehicles are being sold monthly in north Cyprus, Yuca said that there were a vast amount of vehicles which were hard to sell and added that the only option would be to get rid of them. Initiatives should be taken to export these vehicles to Türkiye, he said.
