Serious multi-vehicle collision in Nicosia leads to injuries and arrest


 

A complex traffic accident occurred on Dr. Fazıl Küçük Boulevard in Nicosia at approximately 1:30 AM today, resulting in multiple injuries and an arrest.

The incident began when a vehicle registered as ZSZ 731, driven by Mohammad S.M ALMEGHARI, 23, attempted to overtake another car carelessly. His maneuver led to a collision with a vehicle (plate LH 960) driven by Mekki BULDUK, 24, who was traveling in the same direction.

The impact caused ALMEGHARI’s vehicle to then crash into a third car (plate RV 729) driven by Samiye FADILOĞLULARI, 54. FADILOĞLULARI’s vehicle skidded as a result, hitting the central median and a eucalyptus tree before overturning and coming to rest on its roof.

Samiye FADILOĞLULARI and her passengers, Mustafa FADILOĞLULARI, 54, and Merin FADILOĞLULARI, 22, sustained injuries due to the accident. They were taken to Dr. Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital in Nicosia for treatment and observation.

ALMEGHARI fled the scene immediately after the accident. However, authorities later identified and arrested him as part of their ongoing investigation.

The police are continuing their inquiry into the circumstances surrounding this serious traffic incident.
