The Cyprus Turkish Electricity Authority (KIB-TEK) had put out a tender for 30 thousand electrometers. The winner of the tender Mors LTD withdrew from the tender 2 weeks later, saying that there had been a ‘calculation error’, and that another company based in Türkiye ‘won’ the tender.
EL-SEN President Ahmet Tuğcu claimed that the company, which won the tender and announced its withdrawal two weeks later, only took this step due to pressure.
Tuğcu also claimed that although the documents of the Türkiye-based company that ‘won’ the tender were missing, the Central Tender Commission did not cancel the tender due to pressure and received approval with a document sent from Türkiye.
Making a statement to YENİDÜZEN Mors LTD owner Ali Erdal Hacımulla, who said that he ‘withdrew’ 2 weeks later, despite winning the tender, said “I withdrew from the tender with my own free will. There was a calculation error”.
Following allegations by Tuğcu, Central Tender Committee (MİK) President Salih Canseç spoke to YENİDÜZEN and said “Two offers came, one withdrew from the tender, KIB-TEK made its examinations, a report was written, and MİK decided according to the report. I don’t know why the other company withdrew from the tender and this does not concern me, our decision is in line with the report.”
