Syrian national caught crossing border arrested for violating military zone!


 

Syrian national D.A., who was caught crossing from south to north of Cyprus has been arrested and taken to court for violating the military restricted zone.

A police statement said that the suspect has violated the military restricted zone as he was caught red-handed while he crossed from the south to north of Cyprus through the Küçük Kaymaklı (Omorphita) military zone at around 8.30 p.m. on July 14.

The police stated that the suspect has been arrested and an investigation has been launched.

The police also noted that the suspect has no legal ties in the country and requested for him to be sent to prison.

Evaluating the testimony, Judge Zehra Jale Ergüden ordered the suspect to be sent to prison for a period not exceeding one month.
