Turkish Cypriot leader Ersin Tatar stated that if the Cyprus policy changes following the elections to be held in Türkiye on May 14, he will not change his policy and will resign from the Presidency.
Stressing that Türkiye’s policy on Cyprus will never change, Tatar stated that if this policy changes he will resign from the presidency, return to his position at Kanal T and live in dignity.
“I was born like this; I will die like this”
Responding to a question on the possibility of the policy of the government changing following the Türkiye elections, Tatar said, “I was born like this, I will die like this. I will not change my policy. I will leave the presidency. I will return to my position at Kanal T and live in dignity. It would not be right for me to change my stance,” he said.
However, Tatar said that he did not think that Türkiye’s policy would change, and added that the Cyprus policy is a national policy.
