Temperatures to be higher than seasonal norms today

The Meteorological Department has released its forecast for Saturday, September 7, indicating that the region will continue to be influenced by a low pressure system and cool, humid air in the upper atmosphere.

Despite these conditions, temperatures at ground level are expected to rise 2 to 3 degrees above seasonal norms.

Wind patterns will remain moderate, primarily blowing from southern and western directions. However, during periods of rainfall, these winds may intensify in strength.

Today’s weather is anticipated to be partly cloudy throughout, with increased cloud cover expected around noon. There’s also a possibility of occasional showers or thunderstorms.

Most inland and coastal areas will experience highs between 30°C and 37°C. The capital city, Nicosia, is set to experience the peak temperature in the region, with the mercury expected to reach around 37°C.
