Foreign Minister Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu emphasized that the acceptance of political equality alone is not enough for a solution on the island. It is inevitable to have the sovereign equality of the TRNC, not the communities, reaffirmed, he said. The goal for negotiations to be carried out for a federal solution is in the past, he said.
Criticizing AKEL Cyprus Desk Chief Tumazos Çelebis for stating that there will be no solution if they do not accept political equality, Ertuğruloğlu said that Çelebis thinks he is making remarkable statements.
