The Left and the Cyprus Problem conference take place this weekend


 

The 5th Annual Conference “The Left and the Cyprus Problem” is organized this weekend.

The conference will take place on Saturday, the 14th October, 8:30 – 17:30, at the Home for Cooperation.

A Press Conference was organized by the Organizing Committee of the conferences “The Left and the Cyprus Problem”, to explain the aim of the previous conferences and to give an insight information about the upcoming conference.

The 5th Annual Conference is organised under the title “Common Action by the Cypriot Left”, meaning that it will mainly focus on the possibilities for cooperation and joint action by the Left for the achievement of a lasting solution to the Cyprus problem.

The Conference will start with political addresses by the Secretary General of AKEL, Stefanos Stefanou, the President of CTP
Tufan Erhürman, and Takis Hadjidemetriou. 29 speeches will follow.
The speakers, being either members of parties, trade unions, movements, organizations, or independent persons or analysts, will have the opportunity to present their opinions and thoughts to contribute to a better understanding of the problems faced by the Left in search for a solution to the Cyprus problem.
