The oil spill at Karaoğlanoğlu (Agios Georgios) and Çatalköy (Agios Epictitos) seas in Girne (Kyrenia) had caused great concern.
Intensive work was carried out to ensure that sea creatures and the environment were not damaged by the contamination, and the substance, which was determined to be oil, was cleaned by the teams led by the Environmental Protection Department.
