Beginning on Monday, April 29, 2024, the traffic camera system will be expanded within the Limassol province through the addition of five fixed cameras at two new locations aimed at decreasing the number of severe and fatal road accidents.
In particular, three cameras have been placed at the intersection of Vasileos Georgiou A’ and Christakis Kranou Avenues, which will check violations involving violation of the red signal, the white line and the speed limit.
In addition, two other devices will control the same violations at the junction of Archbishop Makarios III and 28th of October Avenues.
It is noted that already in the province of Limassol mobile cameras are used for speed control. Furthermore, fixed cameras are operational at the following locations:
Intersection of Arch Makariou Avenue 3 with Nikos Pattichis Avenue and Arch Leontiou Avenue 1
Intersection of Fr. Ave. Roosevelt Ms. Omonia Ave
Crossroads of Nikos Pattichis Avenue and Spyros Kyprianou Avenue
Contribution 28th October Avenue and Iakovou Tombazi Avenue
Crossroads of Arch Makariou Avenue 3 and Agia Zoni Avenue
