Thousands of small livestock were vaccinated against sheep-goat pox!


 

Thousands of sheep and goats, coordinated by the Veterinary Department, were vaccinated yesterday (30.05.2023) in line with the vaccination against the sheep-goat pox disease detected at two small cattle farms in Gazimağusa (Famagusta).
The Veterinary Department announced that 5,750 sheep and goats were vaccinated at 46 animal barns.
20 thousand doses of sheep and goat pox vaccine, from Türkiye are being applied to small cattle in Gazimağusa (Famagusta) and Güvercinlik (Aheritou) villages as of yesterday.
Animals that are vaccinated against sheep and goat pox will have strong immunity for 2 years. The vaccination also stops the disease from spreading.
There is no risk of vaccine residue on consumed milk and dairy products or animal meat.
