The Turkish Cypriot Doctors Trade Union (Tıp-İş) issued an urgent call to the Ministry of Health and the government to improve care in emergency departments, including increasing the number of physicians and personnel in the emergency services. It was noted that a deadline has been given until August 31st for improvements to be completed.
Head of the Union Özlem Gürkut, indicated in her written statement that if steps are not taken by August 31st, without a second warning all union rights will be used to go on strike.
