A tourist named Alois Suppan, who was visiting North Cyprus suddenly fell ill while swimming at sea at Yenibogaziçi and died at around 10:20 am today.
According to a police report, 68-year-old Suppan was rescued by lifeguards but despite all efforts, later died at the Gazimağusa (Famagusta) State Hospital.
An investigation into the incident continues.
