A parliamentary delegation from Northern Cyprus is set to visit several key European cities, including Strasbourg and Brussels, in the coming days as part of a diplomatic initiative aimed at countering Greek Cypriot policies through direct engagement.
Speaking to the Turkish Agency Cyprus (TAK), Turkish Cypriot leader Ersin Tatar said the visit is part of a broader diplomatic campaign launched in response to what he called a “systematic escalation of hostile policies” by the Greek Cypriot side.
Tatar emphasized that consultations are ongoing with professional organizations and civil society groups in the Turkish Cypriot community, and that coordinated legal and diplomatic measures are being developed to address recent developments.
He urged the Greek Cypriot leadership to honour its commitments to the United Nations instead of pursuing what he described as “a hostile and regressive political approach.”
Tatar also warned that continuing down this path risks causing “irreversible damage” to intercommunal relations and the future of the island.
