Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu said that with regards to the TRNC having observer membership to the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) under its constitutional name, efforts are underway for the TRNC to gain the same observer membership status at the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO).
Stating that the TRNC being an observer member of the OTS with its constitutional name is a diverse situation, Çavuşoğlu said, “the (TRNC) was at the meeting. The flag swayed at the meeting. Turkish Cypriot leader Ersin Tatar was at the meeting. The TRNC Foreign Minister Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu was also present at the foreign ministers meeting”.
As emphasized in New York by Türkiye’s President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, we are now working for the recognition of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), we are working for recognized rights of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus to be restored.
