Two arrested for theft cases in Limassol


 

Police have arrested two men, aged 20 and 18, in connection with two recent money thefts in Limassol. Additionally, the 18-year-old is being investigated for a third case involving the theft of a moped-on May 7.

The incidents began on Wednesday, May 29, shortly before 5:00 pm, when two suspicious individuals stole 200 Euros from a 67-year-old street vendor. The same suspects had reportedly stolen another 40 Euros from the vendor six days earlier.

Following investigations by the Limassol Central Police Station, evidence against the two suspects led to their arrests on Sunday. Both were taken into custody to assist with the ongoing investigations.

The 18-year-old was specifically arrested under a court warrant related to the theft of a moped. Police discovered the stolen moped, valued at 500 euros, during a search of the suspect’s residence on Thursday, May 30. The moped, belonging to a 46-year-old man, had been stolen between May 6-7 from a parking lot in Limassol.
