Two arrested in relation to a robbery case in Larnaca


 

Two individuals, aged 24 and 17, have been arrested by law enforcement in connection with a recent robbery incident in Larnaca.

The police responded to a report from a 31-year-old man who claimed he was attacked while leaving his apartment building last night. According to his account, two unidentified individuals demanded money from him as he was departing on his bicycle. When he stated he had no money, he has been assaulted by the two. The situation escalated when one of the assailants brandished a knife, prompting the victim to retreat.

Following the assault, the victim sought medical attention at Larnaca General Hospital for facial injuries sustained during the altercation.

Upon returning home, the victim spotted the suspects on a nearby street and promptly alerted the authorities. Police officers swiftly arrived at the scene, identifying and detaining the 24-year-old and 17-year-old suspects for questioning.

During the arrest, the 17-year-old allegedly resisted arrest and assaulted police officers.
Arrest warrants were issued for both suspects, leading to their detention to aid ongoing investigations.

The Larnaca Police Department is overseeing the inquiry into this robbery case.
