Two people were injured yesterday afternoon when a large advertising platform collapsed at the TEKNOFEST festival area at Ercan Airport.
The approximately 20-meter-high iron structure toppled due to strong winds, falling within the event grounds. The victims, identified as Paul Savage (55) and Philip Michael Conkie (56), sustained injuries in the incident and were transported to Lefkoşa Dr. Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital, where both underwent surgery.
Police launched an investigation regarding the incident.
