Two more “Golden Passports” revoked

The Council of Ministers has revoked two more “golden passports” issued to Russian oligarchs, it was revealed on Thursday. They had acquired Cypriot citizenship during Demetris Christofias’ presidency from 2008 to 2013.
The cabinet decided to deprive their Cypriot citizenship on Wednesday after they were blacklisted. The first oligarch was targeted by Moscow and faced sanctions imposed by the Russian Federation. The second oligarch was sanctioned by Brussels following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
