The trade unions SEK, PEO, PASYDY, DEOK, PASYKI, and PA.SY.NO. have announced plans to escalate their actions at state hospitals due to the delayed signing of a collective agreement with the State Health Services Organization (OKYpY).
In a joint meeting held on Monday, September 16, 2024, the unions reviewed the current status of negotiations with OKYpY regarding a collective labor agreement for the organization’s staff. They expressed frustration over the lack of progress, attributing the delay to OKYpY, which they claim has repeatedly postponed meetings and avoided signing the agreement. According to the unions, this behavior undermines the social dialogue and collective bargaining process.
As a result, the unions have decided to stage a 24-hour strike during the first half of October. General assemblies of union members will be held to determine the exact strike date and plan further escalation if necessary.
