Veterinary Services recalls eggs containing chlorate


 

The Veterinary Services of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development, and Environment have issued a public warning regarding the detection of chlorate levels exceeding the allowable limits in Category A eggs sold under the brand name K.Th. Nikolaou LTD. The affected eggs are marked with a “best before” date of October 1, 2024, and are in violation of current EU regulations.

The Veterinary Services have already notified the distributing company, instructing them to immediately recall and remove all quantities of the affected batch from the Cypriot market.

Consumers who may already have purchased these eggs are advised not to consume them and to return them to the retailer where they were bought.
