41 fatal work accidents in a year, 6 dead


 

A total of 41 construction work accidents have occurred in the north of Cyprus in one year. Six people have died following the fatal accidents.
According to Police, following examinations, falls from height are still the biggest cause of death on construction sites.

According to Havadis News, 27 separate falls from height had taken place between January 1, 2023 and January 26, 2024.
It was determined that only 4 out of the 41 occupational accidents involved employer or construction supervisor negligence.
